Yogas & Combinations

Notable planetary combinations (yogas) detected in this chart, from classical Parashari rules.

Malavya Yoga

Mahapurusha

Venus is moolatrikona in Libra, placed in your 1th (angular) house -- one of the five classical "Great Person" yogas, indicating unusual strength and prominence tied to Venus's natural significations.

Gaja Kesari Yoga

Other

Moon and Jupiter are in mutual kendra (angular houses from each other) -- a classical yoga for intelligence, reputation, and steady good fortune.

Kemadruma Yoga

Dosha

The Moon has no planets adjacent to it (2nd or 12th house) and none conjunct it -- a classically challenging placement for emotional and material stability.

Classical texts list several cancellation (bhanga) conditions for Kemadruma -- e.g. the Moon in a kendra from the Lagna, or aspected by a benefic -- which this simplified detector does not fully evaluate.

Raja Yoga

Raja

The lords of a kendra (angular) house and a trikona (trine) house -- Venus (house 1) and Mercury (house 9) -- are connected by conjunction, a classical recipe for Raja Yoga: status, authority, and success.

Raja Yoga

Raja

The lords of a kendra (angular) house and a trikona (trine) house -- Mars (house 7) and Venus (house 1) -- are connected by conjunction, a classical recipe for Raja Yoga: status, authority, and success.

Raja Yoga

Raja

The lords of a kendra (angular) house and a trikona (trine) house -- Mars (house 7) and Mercury (house 9) -- are connected by conjunction, a classical recipe for Raja Yoga: status, authority, and success.

This is a curated, non-exhaustive set of well-known yogas — classical texts describe hundreds. Detection here uses simplified, documented rules and doesn't weigh opposing factors (afflictions, combustion, planetary strength/shadbala) the way a full professional analysis would.

Conjunctions

Planets sharing the same house blend their significations together.

Mercury + Venus + Mars in the 1th house (Tanu Bhava (Self)) — combining intellect, communication, commerce, analysis, adaptability, and skill in learning; and love, relationships, beauty, comfort, the arts, marriage, and sensory pleasure; and energy, courage, drive, siblings, conflict, land and property, and assertive action.
Moon + Rahu in the 10th house (Karma Bhava (Career)) — combining the mind, emotions, mother, nurturing, instincts, the public, and one's inner sense of comfort; and worldly ambition, obsession, foreign or unconventional paths, illusion, and amplification.

Planetary Aspects (Graha Drishti)

Every planet casts a full aspect on the 7th house from itself; Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu cast additional special aspects. Shown below: aspects that land directly on another planet.

  • Moon aspects Ketuhouse 4
  • Mercury aspects Jupiterhouse 7
  • Venus aspects Jupiterhouse 7
  • Mars aspects Ketuhouse 4
  • Mars aspects Jupiterhouse 7
  • Jupiter aspects Mercuryhouse 1
  • Jupiter aspects Venushouse 1
  • Jupiter aspects Marshouse 1
  • Saturn aspects Ketuhouse 4
  • Rahu aspects Saturnhouse 2
  • Rahu aspects Ketuhouse 4
  • Ketu aspects Moonhouse 10
  • Ketu aspects Rahuhouse 10
  • Ketu aspects Sunhouse 12

Aspects use the whole-sign (house-based) Parashari method, not exact-degree aspects.

Shadbala (Six-Fold Planetary Strength)

A composite classical measure of how strong each planet is in this chart, combining positional (Sthana), directional (Dig), temporal (Kaala), motional (Cheshta), natural (Naisargika), and aspectual (Drig) strength into a single Rupa score. Stronger planets deliver their significations and dasha periods more fully; weaker ones tend to give mixed or muted results.

Total Strength (Rupas)

Sun5.67 Rupas (reference minimum 6.5)
Moon6.01 Rupas (reference minimum 6)
Mars6.74 Rupas (reference minimum 5)
Mercury9.99 Rupas (reference minimum 7)
Jupiter11.88 Rupas (reference minimum 6.5)
Venus8.14 Rupas (reference minimum 5.5)
Saturn5.45 Rupas (reference minimum 5)

The vertical tick on each bar marks the classical reference minimum for that planet. Because this app computes a simplified subset of Shadbala's sub-formulas (see below), totals here run somewhat lower than a full classical calculation -- treat the tick as a rough reference point, not a strict pass/fail line. The ranking (Jupiter > Mercury > Venus > ...) is the more reliable takeaway: which of your planets is relatively strongest and weakest.

What this does and doesn't include

This implements all six classical Shadbala categories (Sthana, Dig, Kaala, Cheshta, Naisargika, and Drig Bala) using formulas cross-checked against published classical references. A few sub-parts are simplified or omitted where full classical fidelity would require machinery this app doesn't have:

  • Kaala Bala's Varsha/Masa/Dina/Hora Bala (bonus strength for ruling the current year, month, weekday, or planetary hour) is omitted -- it needs a full Hindu calendar/planetary-hour engine this app doesn't build.
  • Yuddha Bala (planetary-war strength transfer) is omitted, consistent with the Aspects tab's Graha Yuddha feature, which also stops short of naming a "winner."
  • Saptavargaja Bala (dignity across 7 divisional charts) uses natural planetary friendship only, not the finer compound (natural + temporal) friendship tiers.
  • Cheshta Bala for the five non-luminary planets uses actual-vs-mean motion speed as a continuous stand-in for the classical discrete motion categories.
  • Drig Bala uses this app's existing whole-sign (full-aspect) model rather than the continuous degree-graded classical scale.

Because of these simplifications, totals here will generally read lower than a fully classical calculation. Use this feature to compare a person's own planets against each other, not as a precise absolute score.

Chart Synthesis

Your Lagna (rising sign) is Libra (Tula), ruled by Venus. This is the mask you present to the world and the lens through which your whole chart operates: expect a naturally diplomatic, fair-minded, partnership-oriented, aesthetic, indecisive disposition to color your general demeanor, physical constitution, and approach to life.

Your Moon sign (Rashi) is Cancer, in the Ashlesha nakshatra (ruled by Mercury, presided over by Nagas), pada 4. In Vedic astrology the Moon sign is often considered as important as -- or more important than -- the Sun sign in Western astrology, since it reflects the mind and emotional nature: expect a nurturing, emotional, protective, home-oriented, intuitive emotional temperament, expressed in the 10th house of career, public reputation, authority, and life direction.

Your Sun is in Virgo in the 12th house, shaping your core sense of purpose, willpower, and relationship to authority and father figures through matters of loss, expenditure, foreign lands, isolation, and spiritual liberation.

Your Navamsa (D9) ascendant is ♏ Scorpio -- this divisional chart is classically read for marriage, spiritual disposition (dharma), and the deeper, more durable strength of every planet than the main birth chart alone shows.

Yoga Highlights

This chart carries 6 notable yogas: Malavya Yoga, Gaja Kesari Yoga, Kemadruma Yoga, Raja Yoga, and 2 more -- see the Yogas tab for what each means.

Planetary Strength at a Glance

By Shadbala (six-fold strength), Jupiter is this chart's strongest planet and Saturn its weakest -- a useful lens for judging which yogas and dasha periods are likely to deliver most fully. See the Shadbala tab for the full breakdown.
